Mazedna charges a single tiered fee on every completed sale — applied once to the buyer (added on top of the hammer price) and once to the seller (deducted from the payout). Both sides pay the same amount for the same sale price. The fee is calculated server-side at order creation and shown before you confirm.
| Sale price | Fee per side |
|---|---|
| Under $2,000 | 5% of sale price |
| $2,000 to under $5,000 | $100 flat |
| $5,000 to under $20,000 | $200 flat |
| $20,000 and above | $500 flat |
Example: A $1,500 sale — buyer pays $1,575 total ($1,500 + $75), seller receives $1,425 ($1,500 − $75).
Example: A $3,000 sale — buyer pays $3,100 total ($3,000 + $100), seller receives $2,900 ($3,000 − $100).
The buyer fee is added to the hammer price at checkout. The total you owe — hammer price plus fee — is shown on the lot page before you bid and confirmed at checkout. There are no surprises.
There are no other buyer fees. Shipping costs, if any, are set by the seller and shown in the listing.
Listing is free. You pay the seller fee only when a sale completes — it is deducted from your payout automatically.
Reserve price activation: Setting a reserve price on a listing costs a one-time, non-refundable $2 fee at the time of listing. This fee is not refunded if the reserve is not met.
The buyer fee and seller fee together cover: escrow and payment processing, dispute resolution, platform operations, and the review and curation of every lot before it goes live. We charge when a sale completes — which is when we have done our job.
We will give sellers at least 30 days' notice before increasing fee rates. Existing listings at the time of any fee change will sell at the rate in effect when they were listed.
