Prohibited Items

Mazedna is a curated auction platform. Not everything can be sold here — either because the law prohibits it, because safe transaction and delivery cannot be guaranteed, or because it conflicts with what Mazedna is.

If you are unsure whether your item qualifies, contact us before listing it. Submitting a prohibited item is grounds for immediate removal and account review.

Prohibited without exception

Weapons and related items

• Firearms, ammunition, and firearm components
• Explosive devices, military ordnance, and demining materials
• Knives designed primarily as weapons (decorative historical pieces may qualify — contact us)

Controlled and illegal substances

• Narcotics, prescription medication not accompanied by valid documentation
• Chemical precursors listed under international control treaties

Human remains and biological material

• Human remains in any form
• Organs, tissue, or biological samples
• Endangered animal parts (ivory, rhino horn, CITES-listed species)

Stolen and illicit property

• Any item reported stolen
• Archaeological objects removed from their site of origin without documentation
• Items subject to an international cultural property protection order

Financial instruments

• Currency (except numismatic coins and banknotes listed as collectibles)
• Counterfeit goods of any kind
• Forged documents

Digital and intangible goods

• Software licenses, subscription codes, NFTs
• Accounts and credentials for any platform

Hazardous materials

• Asbestos-containing products
• Lead paint
• Radioactive material

Restricted — requires pre-approval

The following categories require review and approval before listing. Contact support@mazedna.com with documentation before submitting.

• Antiquities and archaeological objects — provenance documentation required, including export permits where applicable under Lebanese law and UNESCO 1970 Convention rules
• Luxury watches valued above $10,000 — authenticity certificate and service history required
• Fine art — attribution documentation and provenance history required for works claimed to be by named artists
• Medical and dental equipment — must be de-identified, not listed with patient data, and compliant with applicable disposal regulations
• Vehicles — registration documents and clear title required

A note on provenance

Lebanon has a specific and serious obligation under international cultural heritage law. We do not list objects that were removed from archaeological sites without documentation, regardless of how long ago or by whom. If you have an object of uncertain origin, we are happy to discuss it — but we will not list it without documentation that satisfies us.
