This Privacy Policy describes how Mazedna (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and app (the “Platform”).
1. Information we collect
Account data: email, display name, phone number, city, and preferred language.
Identity verification (KYC) data: photos of your ID document and a verification selfie. Your ID number is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash, never in plain text.
Transaction data: bids, orders, wallet balance and ledger entries, top-up and withdrawal requests, and pickup/delivery addresses.
Communications: buyer–seller chat messages sent on the Platform.
Device and usage data: basic technical logs needed to run the service and prevent fraud, your device's push notification token (so bid alerts can reach you), product analytics identifiers, and crash reports. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. How we use your information
To run auctions and complete orders; to operate the wallet and escrow system; to verify identity, prevent fraud, and protect buyers and sellers; to send transactional notifications; to improve the Platform; and to comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
With your transaction counterparty only as needed to complete the transaction (for example your name, phone, and delivery address are shared with the courier); and with authorities where legally required. We never sell your personal data.
Sub-processors we rely on to run the Platform:
- Supabase — hosting, database, and file storage (including verification documents)
- Vercel — website hosting
- Wakilni — delivery: receives your name, phone, and address to complete a handover
- OpenAI — the optional AI description feature when listing: a photo you submit for an AI-generated description is transmitted to OpenAI for processing. If you do not use the feature, your photos are not sent.
- PostHog — product usage analytics
- Sentry — error and crash monitoring
Some of these providers run on servers outside Lebanon, which means some data is transferred abroad for processing.
4. Data retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account your personal data is removed, and transaction history is retained in anonymized form for financial and legal records.
5. Your rights
You can access and correct your data in Account Settings, and permanently delete your account in-app or on the web (Account Settings → Delete account). To request a copy of your data, contact us at the address below.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and stored with reputable infrastructure providers under strict access controls. ID documents live in a private bucket that no other user can access.
7. Children
The Platform is for users aged 18 and over.
